The One Where the Ladies Swoon, and Possibly Urp

Well... Sunny concocted this question about which Celebrity would be your twin, and linked to this site where you could scan your image and it would use facial recognition software to compare you to. Being the sucker that I am... I went over there.

Ok... so I uploaded the full version of this pic,

which you've already seen, for the fun to commence.

In retrospect, I probably should have looked for a picture without the moustache, or any facial hair, because I think the fuzz kinda threw the software for a bit of a loop. But it did want to know what I looked like now, I guess...

Anyway... Sunny didn't want us to reveal who the matches were just yet, but shoot... she can't tell me what to do on my own blog, so there! ;) And besides... none of her readers come over here anyway so the surprise is still preserved.

I uploaded the thing for the facial recognition, which was "free". But like most "free" things online, they only wanted you to register and fill out all of the "required fields" by asking truly intrusive questions about your love life and the size of your unit. (Trying to bump that rating up, folks.) Ok... it wasn't that bad, but why do they need my email address and zip code in order to scan an image I've already provided them? *shrug*

Alright, so it starts to have its way with my pic (who knows what dastardly things were going on back there) and it comes back with my celebrity matches.

Now before I go any further, I kinda have to tell you all that these matches weren't exactly 100% accurate. In fact, the best one was only a 63% match and went down from there. But alas, it does give you, my unfaithful readers, something to go by.

Are you ready? Really, really ready? I'm warning you... it might not be pretty. More than that, it might skew your pre-conceived notions of what I actually look like. I mean c'mon... think of the disappointment. You may never be able to look at these celebrities again without having their images tainted with a pick-axe and stocking cap. I mean it... quit now while you're ahead. Don't say I didn't warn ya!

Ok... at the top of the list, by one percentage point, we have:
Barry Pepper. Meh... not who I'd say I looked like, but he did portray Dale Sr. for ESPN's movie and got to make out with that PinTA lookalike Liz Mitchell. Now there's an image for her to try and scrub out of her brain. ;)

Next, but only trailing by 1 point was:
Yup. Christian Bale. I'm Batman! I know, I know... there are some of you out there that are now ruined on Bale films, and I know some of you have even drooled over his "hotness" on your blogs before and are now stifling that little bit of vomit. Serves you right.

Next... I had a couple of black and white's from ages past, one being Frederick Neitsche, but I'm wagering that was based on the stache.

Just down the list from them, but only coming in at around 58% was:
I just can't add anything to that pic, nor it's expression.

Just after Keanu, we had:

That's right folks. The man, the myth, the Angel, David Boreanaz. Some similarities there, but not all that much.

And not quite last, but my personal favorite celebrity lookalike matchup based upon a facial recognition software extraordinaire...

Blame Kath

Because I followed the link in Kath's most recent post, I can tell all of you that...

You Are Rock

Powerful and overbearing, you intimidate people with your presence.
People know they can't push you around, and they respect that.
Deep down, you are calm, confident, and unmovable.
You take everything pretty seriously, and you think deeply about all aspects of your life.

You tend to feel smothered by paper people.

You don't mind crushing the spirit of a scissors person.

When you fight, you: Use all of your strength

If someone makes you mad: You're likely to throw something at them

You Are Pretty Logical

You're a bit of a wizard when it comes to logic
While you don't have perfect logic, you logic is pretty darn good
Keep at it - you've got a lot of natural talent in this area!

You Are Bud Light

You're not fussy when it comes to beer. If someone hands it to you, you'll drink it.
In fact, you don't understand beer snobbery at all. It all tastes the same once you're drunk!
You're an enthusiastic drinker, and you can often be found at your neighborhood bar.
You're pretty good at holding your liquor too - you've had lots of experience.

And just because KTM will score 98% on this next one...

You Are 25% Redneck

The wheels still turning, but the hamster's dead.
You're just fakin' bein' a redneck.

Oh... and in case you were curious... My RealAge is 33.9. I guess I'm not all that crusty after all. ;P

The Easy Way Out

Crikey Gidget luv... Who da thunk it? People are actually clambering for a post from me? Are you all really that insane? I'm thinking yes...

So because I can...

So, here's how it works:
1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the song that's playing.
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button
6. Don't lie and try to pretend your cool... (I will however edit the entries to make sure they're songs, and not CD's of my George Gordon classes. I somehow don't think "Disc 11, Basic Courtroom Strategy and Procedure" will ever be a good answer.)

Opening Credits: In the Hall of the Mountain King -- Wagner
Waking Up: Kohoutek -- Journey
First Day at School: Ballad of the Green Berets -- SSG Barry Sadler
Falling in Love: Cum on Feel the Noize -- Slade
Fight Song: Still They Ride -- Journey (Whutha???)
Breaking Up: Tell Her About It -- Billy Joel
Prom: Cum on Feel the Noize -- Quiet Riot (Does this mean that I fell in love at the prom?)
Mental Breakdown: St Elmo's Fire -- John Parr (What the heck is this doing in my iTunes library?)
Driving: Allentown -- Billy Joel
Flashback: Wheel in the Sky -- Journey (One of the few Journey songs I actually listen to.)
Getting Back Together: In America -- Charlie Daniels Band
Wedding: In the Hall of the Mountain King -- Wagner (I've got 1000 songs and it hits this twice?)
Birth of Child: The Kid is Hot Tonight -- Loverboy
Final Battle: Mississippi Lady -- Jim Croce
Death Scene: Who's Cryin' Now -- Journey
End Credits: Ventura Highway -- America
Funeral Song: Of A Lifetime -- Journey (I am NOT a Journey fan and it hits 5 songs, what the heck?)

Well... that wasn't very representative, so we'll go from iTunes to the ol' iPod...

Opening Credits: Simple Kind of Life -- No Doubt
Waking Up: Action -- Sweet
First Day at School: Rooster -- Alice in Chains
Falling in Love: It Just Takes Some Time -- Jimmy Eats World
Fight Song: Somewhere Over the Rainbow -- Israel Kamikasomthingorother (Just gets you in that fighting spirit now, doesn't it. You'll be hearing it on the next UFC championship fight, I'm almost sure.)
Breaking Up: Fear of the Dark -- Iron Maiden
Prom: Call Me -- Blondie (I'm an American Gigolo!)
Mental Breakdown: Sweetness -- Jimmy Eats World
Driving: Convoy -- C.W. McCall (Finally something that fits)
Flashback: Stupid Girl -- Garbage (What can I say?)
Getting Back Together: Burning For You - Blue Oyster Cult
Wedding: Breathe -- Anna Nalick
Birth of Child: Last Night -- The Strokes
Final Battle: Ballroom Blitz -- Sweet
Death Scene: Kryptonite -- Three Doors Down
End Credits: Bring Me to Life -- Evanescence
Funeral Song: Four Wheel Drive -- THE Bachman Turner Overdrive

Well... the iPod was definitely the better of the two. I'm really going to have to get after my bro for his music selections in the future...

8 Things and Life

Yes... I've been tagged. AGAIN! Now who would do such a dastardly thing and call me a biotch besides? I'll let you jump to your own conclusions.

So anyway, the substance of this meme-type thing is 8 facts about myself. How tough can that be.

1. I read Beth's blog.
2. I read trinamick's blog.
3. I read...

Wha? Not buying those? Well crap, what do you want me to say? Actual things about myself? Of all the nerve...

8 things, eh? Hmmm... Well... here goes.

1. I started my college career (yes, I actually went to college) to be an electrical engineer, and spent the first 3 years in that major. It became obvious that although interesting, it wasn't going to be my calling in life and so instead of entering the professional program, I switched majors and ended up having a lot more fun.

2. I remember things that I really shouldn't be able to, and that's kinda intriguing to me. Like what you ask? Well... I remember watching an apollo mission landing in the ocean. Why shouldn't I remember that? Because the last apollo mission landing occurred when I was young. Very young. I also remember watching a TV movie that was on at about the same time. It was Frankenstein and again, I was very young when it aired. It only aired once, and I only saw it once, and yet recently I correctly identified a key sequence in the show on a bulletin board. That was astonishing to me.

3. I rarely reveal anything personal about myself. I'm mostly a private individual, which I'm sure you can see from reading my past posts. I'm a fairly closed book. Oh sure, you'll see the occasional story about this guy or that guy, or this happened or that happened, but you'll rarely see anything what I'd call personal. That tends to carry over into my real life too.

4. My tastes in music are wide and varied and range from Heavy Metal to Classical. Favorite rock band? I'm quite partial to older Metallica and the Scorpions. The Scorps came to prominence during my formative teenage years, and I met Metallica during my formative post teenage years. ;) Favorite classical tune? That would be the Warsaw Concerto. I dunno why, but it sure fits me well..

5. I'm an easy keeper. Give me four walls and a roof, and I can be satisfied.

6. I'm a decent cook. While my meals currently tend to consist of a single ingredient or less, I know my way around the kitchen and can make a meal that most would consider not only edible, but also desirable!

7. I don't write this blog for my enjoyment, nor yours, as my regular reader can tell you.

8. I can't think of anything else to put on this list. Instead I'll go ahead and post a pic of me that should satisfy most of your curiosities. It was taken a couple years ago, so I may or may not still look like I do in the pic.
