Yeah, But It's a Dry Heat...
It's hot around these parts now... touching on triple digits, which means in the sunshine like I am every day... probably gets around 110. Couple all that with a much drier than normal winter, and absolutely no runoff for irrigation water and you have a condition where we're getting into the tinderbox stage around these parts... not gonna be fun unless we get some serious rain showers soon...
Did I mention it was dry? Well... it was so dry Sunday my well went dry. Ok... not exactly "dry" dry, but pumping muddy water dry. Either way it wasn't drinkable or showerable or...
So yesterday we had to get up at 4:30 and go move some cattle around in the morning and then I spent all the rest of yesterday running a pipeline down here from my irrigation system down here to the lawn where I ran it out all night for some... "seed water". Translation: let the water percolate down through the many layers of subsoil to recharge the dry well...
As of this afternoon... it seems to have worked.
Then a cousin was borrowing my baler and as he was driving it up the road... one of the large tires had the sidewall burst on it... $800 later... I've got a new tire.
Then today I got up and 4:45 to go move some more cattle, in a different location, but this time I was tasked with taking my 4 wheeler and do the scooter work. Everything worked fine until the fuel pump failed and I damn near had to walk. But I was finally able to get things working somewhat and get back to the pickup. Did I mention that I just replaced said fuel pump a couple months back? Did I also mention that when I called the parts place they told me that they never have fuel pumps go bad? I was the only one in several years, and now I need another one? *sigh*
But other than that... my window unit is still working and keeps me cool so that I can actually sleep so that I can get up again at 4:45 tomorrow and move more cattle further up the mountain so that they can have all the advantages that altitude gives them (greener grass, cooler temps, much gaining of weight in preparation for the winter).
So until the next problem... I'll bid you all adieu... or as Knight would say... later bitches!

Today's mystery lyric: (Remember the rules folks, no online searching of the lyrics, if you don't know it, you don't have the answer!)
You can get addicted to a certain kind of sadness,
Like resignation to the end,
Always the end,
So when we found that we could not make sense,
Well you said that we would still be friends,
But I'll admit that I was glad that it was over
Answer to last lyric: A Warrior's Call by Volbeat. You're not even trying now... but you should... it's a great song!

You are having one hell of a crappy week darlin'. I'll sing a little song for you right now and send some good energy your way.
Later Babe!
Didn't work sweets...
Moved cattle all morning, then came home to haul some hay so that I could start my sprinkler tomorrow.
I was hauling along and got a couple loads in then a part broke off the stacker... so I ran down to a friend of the family's to weld it back up. Went back to hauling and on the very first bale... my pickup chain failed spectacularly...
Sending the parental units to town tomorrow to get a new one. No salvage on the old one. Maybe you'd better sing a different tune next time... ;)
DANG. My problems are NOTHING compared to yours. And yet you're almost unflappable. HOW COME?
Tiffy... on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being high) on how THAT rates to a bad week around here? It's about a 3...
I'm not going to even tell you about the $1300 tire I had to buy earlier this year for the swather, let alone the fuel bill, or the other various and sundry monstrous expenses that have completely slipped my mind...
