Life's Theme Song...

Since KTM won't let me out of blogging because of real life (slave driver!), I suppose you're all going to have to read some less than interesting drivel. You all know where to lay the blame now...

When you're young, you think you know life, love, and all the answers. I was much the same way. Picture if you will an innocent young lad, bright eyed and bushy tailed. Eager to help anyone with their troubles, and always there with a helping hand. A really nice guy. Got that picture? Ok... I was nothing like that. :P

I kid... I kid. I might have been bushy tailed. ;)

Well... life has a way of curing the bright eyed and bushy tailed, and it starts early.

Many, many years later... I'm listening to the radio and heard a song. I liked it, it was fun, and I didn't think anything more about it. Of course, I've heard it dozens of times since that first one. The fact of the matter is that I kinda know it by heart now, as do most of you.

As time went on, it dawned on me... That could very well be my theme song. Now that I'm older and more jaded, I'm happy to present -- my theme song.

Alice Cooper -- No More Mister Nice Guy

I used to be such a sweet, sweet thing
Until they got a hold of me
I opened doors for little old ladies
I helped the blind to see
I got no friends 'cause they read the papers
They can't be seen with me and I'm getting shot down
And I'm feeling mean
No more Mister Nice Guy
No more Mister Clean
No more Mister Nice Guy
They say he's sick , he's obscene
I got no friends 'cause they read the papers
They can't be seen with me and I'm getting shot down
And I'm feeling mean
My dog bit me on leg today
My cat clawled my eye
My mom's been thrown out of society circle
My dad's had to hide
I went to church incognito
When everybody rose, the Reserved Smith
He recognized me
Punched me in the nose
He said,
No more Mister Nice Guy
No more Mister Clean
No more Mister Nice Guy

So tell me... What's YOUR theme song?

************

Today's Mystery Lyric: (Especially for Kathleen)

I got no friends 'cause they read the papers
They can't be seen with me and I'm getting shot down
And I'm feeling mean

My theme song? Hmm...

I, hate the rain and sunny weather,
and I, hate the beach and moutains too;
(and) I don't like a thing about the city, no, no
and I, I, I, hate the country side too !

and I, hate everything about you !
.. everything about you !

I don't like a thing about your mother,
and I, I hate your daddy's guts too,
I don't like a thing about your sister, no, no
'cause I, I, I, think sex is overrated too.

and I, get sick when I'm around,
I, can't stand to be around
I, hate everything about you !
everything about you, everything about you,
everything about you

Some say I got a bad attitude,
but that don't change the way I feel about you,
If you think all this might be bringing me down,
look again cause I ain't wearin' no frown !

I don't really care about your sister
forget the little bitch 'cause I already kissed her
One thing that I did to your lady
put her on the bed and she didn't say maybe
I know you know everybody knows
the way it comes, the way it goes
you think it's sad well that's too bad
'cause I'm havin' a ball and never cared a thing about
you

Everything about you, everything about you
I get sick when I'm around
I can't stand to be around
I hate everything about you

Ok, so I just read back over that last verse. Umm, maybe this song doesn't all apply to me....

If you hate me so much... Why do you keep coming back here? Spite? ;P

But seeing how you're a lesbian feminazi... that last verse probably does fit you. :ewink:

I'm too mercurial to have one theme song.

Well, I've had many, but I heard this song last week for the billionth time and though, "Yeah, that's me." "Who Can It Be Now," by Men at Work.

I forgot to ask, do you know if Schprock is gone for good? I miss him.

I doubt he's gone for good. Last I gathered, they were moving their office somewhere and then I think he's just become lazy. :P

LOLOL! Thanks. I think the mystery lyrics might be my hometown boy, Alice Cooper - whom I adore! ;-)

Theme song? I'm not sure it applies anymore as I seem to be dating, but it's been "Unlovable" by The Smiths for many years.

For a while, "Only Happy When it Rains" by Garbage was my theme song.
But I like the philosphy and word smithy of this song:

"In walked a man in the shape of a man
holding a hat-shaped hat
he held up two fingers and said 'how many fingers?"
and i said 'Peace man, that's where it's at"
i said you are what you do in order to
prevent becoming what you're busy not doing
and if you do do it truly
then you arrive at it newly
then in the end you are absolved
and the problem of heaven is solved

and the man broke into a smile,
like he was breaking into a song
and he was broken and smiling
and i was singing along
and we agreed completely agreetly about most things
'til the sun set sweetly
like it does in those paintings
the ones they hang in hotel rooms
the ones they bolt to the wall
as though anyone would want to steal them at all

we talked like children without breathing
'til i stopped this lady as she was leaving
and i said 'excuse me,
but do you know what time it would be
if we were on mars ?'
and she held up her hand
like a crossing guard stopping the cars
and she said
five in the morning"
