The Needy and the Greedy...

You know I wrote a couple posts back about my local radio station, and I was actually going to write about something else today, but alas... a recent spate of commercials have got me changing my mind.

The basic gist of the commercial is that there's a great need that all of the people in the area of the station need to band together and fill. It's a strange thing because last year at this time... there was the same need and people actually did band together and put up lots of moolah so that there wouldn't be such a need anymore.

The commercial is so heart wrenching it really get's to you. There's a need, and if only you would step up... think of all the good that would be accomplished. You can just add your donation to your water bill and that's all you have to do. They'll take care of it from there. Just think... if all 50,000 people in the city would only give 2 dollars each, the need would be met. Can't you just see that? For only $100,000... we could seriously take care of the need...

Now I know you people that read this are very giving people, and I'm sure if you could help out, they'd let you. All donations will be gladly accepted... and after all, it does go for a worthy cause...

Oh. You want to know what the cause is? The need that is sooooooo great? The one that is such dire situation that there's no way anyone can do without it? Now why would you want to know such a thing as that? You buncha greedy bastards anyway... can't you see that there's a need? The commercial says so! So don't you go to questioning what that need is here on this blog...

Ok... you greedy bunch... Fine. I'll tell you... It's to pay for their 4th of July fireworks display. I mean how can you have a 4th of July without a 100 grand worth of fireworks? It would be such a disappointment to those who get a piece of that particular pie...

Today's mystery lyric: (Remember the rules folks, no online searching of the lyrics, if you don't know it, you don't have the answer!)

What if all you understand
Could fit in the center of our hand,
Then you found it wasn't you
Who held the sum of everything you knew

Answer to last lyric: Snuff by Slipknot.
